Assalaam Alaikum,

I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits, and that your 2024 has been both rewarding and successful, inshallah. I am seeking your support for the UMR Team that is climbing to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise awareness and urgent funds for millions affected in Sudan.

The recent conflict in Sudan has created an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. Over 18 million people have been displaced and are facing severe hunger, illness, and disease. Casualties are rising by the hour. The health sector has almost collapsed, leading to a significant increase in untreated chronic illnesses. With more than 17 million individuals lacking access to essential medical services and basic nutrition, the situation is critical.

UMR is currently providing medical kits and supplies to treat more than 50,000 people per month while also providing meals to thousands of households. UMR is working directly and through our partners to deliver 1.7 million meals and supply healthcare facilities. The need is enormous and your help to expand our work in Sudan is urgent.

UMR’s team of 20 climbers includes UMR COO, Mr. Muhieldin Salih, and the UMR Kenya Board Members. They will begin their climb on January 5, 2025 with the hope to reach the summit on January 10th. By January 12th the team is expected to be back safely at basecamp, inshallah.

While the climb is difficult and dangerous and lasts for nine long days, it pales in comparison to the daily hardship of our Sudanese brothers and sisters. They have endured years of worsening conditions and unimaginable suffering, hunger, sickness and death. The climb was developed to highlight the plight of the Sudanese people and to bring the urgent support they so critically need.

Through this tough and challenging climb of Kilimanjaro we hope to inspire you to join us on our mission in Sudan. I appeal for your support and donation on behalf of the millions of unfortunate and suffering Sudanese. They depend on donors like you.

Access to healthcare transforms lives. Through this mission, UMR addressed critical health needs and improved the well-being of underserved families in Jordan.

In partnership with IMNA, UMR has successfully finalized its regular medical campaign in Jordan, targeting the most vulnerable groups of Jordanians, Palestinians, and Syrian refugees. The campaign provided free medical consultations delivered by medical health professionals from the USA and dedicated Jordanian volunteers, reaching 1,500 patients in need of care. 

This initiative underscores UMR’s ongoing commitment to addressing critical healthcare gaps and improving the well-being of marginalized communities in Jordan.

In response to the ongoing diphtheria and measles outbreaks in Yemen, UMR has provided essential medical supplies to Hais Rural Hospital and Afish Health Clinic. This effort contributes directly to the WHO-led health cluster’s response, addressing critical health needs in the region. 

The support from UMR ensures approximately 20,000 individuals gain free access to vital medications, vaccinations, and malnutrition treatment. By delivering these critical resources, UMR continues its commitment to strengthening healthcare systems and improving outcomes for vulnerable communities in Yemen.

UMR (United Mission for Relief and Development) has dispatched a vital humanitarian shipment to Somalia, aiming to address pressing health and humanitarian needs in the region. This shipment, valued at $6 million, is set to benefit over 50,000 individuals and provide essential support to five health facilities. 

The shipment includes a range of crucial medical supplies and resources to bolster healthcare infrastructure and improve access to life-saving treatments. With Somalia facing ongoing challenges, including widespread displacement and limited access to healthcare, this initiative underscores UMR’s commitment to delivering impactful and sustainable solutions to vulnerable communities.

UMR (United Mission for Relief and Development) has launched a critical initiative to combat food insecurity in Southern Gaza, reaching over 2,000 families with fresh food baskets. This life-saving effort ensures that vulnerable households have access to nutritious meals, providing much-needed relief to families facing significant hardships. 

The fresh food baskets have been met with overwhelming gratitude from recipients, many of whom have expressed their appreciation through heartfelt messages to UMR and its generous donors. This distribution effort is part of a broader campaign targeting 1,700 households and benefiting a total of 10,000 people in Southern Gaza, aiming to address the urgent nutritional needs of the region’s most vulnerable populations. 

The distribution complements ongoing food security programs conducted by the World Food Programme (WFP), ensuring that aid is delivered effectively to those most in need. By combining efforts, UMR and its partners aim to maximize the reach and impact of humanitarian aid in Southern Gaza.

Amman, Jordan – Through a dynamic partnership with multiple stakeholders, the UMR (United Mission for Relief and Development) and IMANA (Islamic Medical Association of North America) teams successfully conducted a comprehensive five-day medical campaign in Jordan. This transformative initiative focused on providing much-needed medical care to some of the region’s most vulnerable populations. 

The campaign specifically targeted Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as underprivileged Jordanians, including orphaned women and individuals living below the poverty line. Over the course of the campaign, more than 1,500 patients received high-quality medical consultations and treatments, addressing critical health concerns and improving their quality of life. 

The success of this initiative was made possible by the tireless dedication of doctors and volunteers from both the USA and Jordan, who worked hand in hand to deliver compassionate, expert care. In addition to providing immediate medical support, the campaign emphasized empowering underserved communities with the tools and resources necessary to pursue long-term health and well-being.
